The Subiaco Football Club’s chosen charity for 2009 is the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia and in preparation for Purple Bra Day, a major fundraiser for the BCFWA on the 19th June, the Subiaco Football Club will be holding a Purple Bra Day fundraising event on Saturday 13th June.
The WAFL Round 12 fixture Subiaco vs. Swan Districts at Medibank Stadium will see Subiaco help launch awareness and raise funds for Purple Bra Day.
This game will be an ABC televised match and at half time will feature senior player Robert Forrest and his mum Rhonda who is currently facing her own battle with breast cancer. The support Robert has received from teammates and family has been strong, particularly fellow senior player Brad Smith who’s mum Jackie also received strong support from the Club during her treatment for cancer of the lymph nodes. As part of the fun on match day even the umpires will be wearing purple to show their commitment and support of the work of BCFWA.
As a special offer for this match only, the Subiaco Football Club is promoting a special of 2 tickets for the price of 1 to all BCFWA supporters! All you have to do is say to the gate staff “I’m Breast Aware” to get this special deal!
The Subiaco Football Club & the BCFWA encourages everyone to wear something purple to the game and of course cheer loudly for the WAFL reining premiers!
There will be donation tins and merchandise available to purchase with all proceeds going to this wonderful cause.
