In the history of the Subiaco Football Club we have only won two Colts Premierships – in 1974 and 1989.
We are desperately trying to organise a reunion of the “Class of 89”, however the response has been slow to say the least. I don’t know whether these guys have gone a bit shy over the years but at this stage RSVPs are dribbling in.
We have organised a pre-match function to be held we play East Perth at Medibank Stadium on Saturday 4th July. Things will kick off with complimentary beverages and finger food in our members social rooms from 12.30pm and coach Eddie Pitter will have great pleasure in reminiscing the feats of this team.
For those of you who were around at that time will recall that between Rounds 8 and 14 of that year the Colts lost 6 out 7 games and drifted out of the four. From Round 15 onwards they then won 9 games straight to win the grand final.
The function on 4th July is for all players and support staff who were part of that Colts group in 1989 (not just those who played in the grand final).
If anyone knows the whereabouts of any of the Colts from that era please pass this information on and ask them to ring the Club. Even if they can not attend on that day we would love to have their contact information for future Club activities.
