Colts Match Report Round 11

Coming off a two week break the boys were keen to get back on the track and face a talented Claremont outfit sitting second on the ladder.

Claremont started well and shot out to a three goal lead early in the first quarter, we fought back well with some great ball use through the middle of the ground to set up some late & vital goals. The second term saw us out score the Tigers 3 goals to 2 to be down by 13 points at Half Time. Some inaccurate kicking by Claremont kept us in the game.

After the break we returned full of spirit and kicked the first two goals of the quarter to even the scores. Our desperation was great but due to some poor skills errors we were unable to extend the lead, Claremont kicked two late goals to lead by 16 points going into the final stanza. Claremont started with a bang in the final term kicking 6 goals to 2 to run away with the match.

It very disappointing to end up losing by 47 points when we were level during the third term. There was many positive to come out of the match with four talented youngsters making their debut for the colts. Keinan Higgins from Sorrento Duncraig JFC, Bryn Djulbic from Edgewater Woodvale JFC, Chris Deluca from the Karrinyup JFC and Matt Braham from Mines in Kalgoorlie came down for his first match for the club. All boys applied themselves well in their first games and we look forward to watching their careers progress.

This week we come up against Swan Districts at Medibank Stadium. Colts are playing at 11:45am before the League game. Hope to see all the supporters get down early and watch the young talent coming through.
