Goldfields - Landmark Carnival

Today the Goldfields FL kicked off their Country Week carnival in Perth. Their first opponent was Lower South West Football League with the match played at East Fremantle Oval. It was a cold winters day in the port city, the blustery conditions didnt assist the boys from the red centre who fort hard all match but struggled to use the ball effectively when going forward.

The result of the match was Goldfields FL - 6.6 - 42 def by Lower South West 11.9 - 75.

The team made their way to Medibank Stadium after their match where they watched the Subiaco League team run through their paces, had a tour of the clubs first class facilities and enjoyed the hospitality of the Subiaco FC upstairs in the members bar. Some of the team were able to catch up with former goldfields players Rob Forrest and Scott Worthington who are now playing with the Subiaco FC.

Goldfields play again tomorrow (Friday 9th July) at either Fremantle or East Fremantle Oval*. The Subiaco FC and its members wish the team the best of luck tomorrow.

*The fixtures for tomorrow were not released when the article was written.
