For our first official hit out we were pleased with how the boys went overall. The game ebbed and flowed and proved to be a quality contest and although Claremont won in the end we can take a lot away from it. Luke Champion was good with nine marks in our forward 50 and the drive that Brodie Green, Damon Joyce and the Prott boys gave out of the centre was good.

Next week we have Swans who have won the last two Grand Finals so it is set to be a tough game however I believe we have what it takes to take it right up to them. Once again we will be going in with a development focus to best equip our young players for the season proper which is only two weeks away.
