Reserves Coaches Report - Round 11 vs Claremont

Monday’s game against Claremont was a very important contest and a game that needed to be won for us to remain in touch with the top four.

To finish 17 points in front was a very pleasing effort and without doubt our best team effort so far this year. Our ability to apply enormous pressure on our opposition and to lay over 50 tackles was crucial in us finishing on the right side of the scoreboard.

One of the pleasing areas, was our ability to control the air with our marking and it was definitely an area that we needed to improve on to challenge and beat strong opposition.

Some of our young players are starting to adapt to the tempo of Reserves football. With a mixture of senior players, we are hoping that Monday’s win will be a turning point in our season. This was our first win against an opposition above us on the ladder.

We hope for your support against the second placed Sharks in a home game in a fortnight’s time.

Enjoy your weekend off, see you at the footy.
