League Coaches Report Round 12 Vs East Fremantle

Ross Smith addressing the players prior to the game

In Rd 3 EF provided a very tough contest at their home ground so our expectations were for another tough game. Early in the game it was very much a man on man contest with the opposition working hard to stifle our game plan and generally slow the game down. The players were able to maintain their focus, work hard for each other and although on the surface it appeared some players were flat we were able to work through the game and achieve a satisfactory result with still some great opportunities to improve.

Daniel Rich rejoined the senior side and in limited game time showed just how damaging and efficient he can be. Four goals capped a solid performance and some of his tackling was outstanding.

Aidan Parker continued his very good season with a typical controlled display. Aidan is rarely beaten in a contest and is one of the real on field leaders.

Caine Hayes was able to apply enormous running pressure to the opposition forwards and is looking better each game. His best football still lies ahead of him.

Ali Pickett showed signs of returning to his best form and we look forward to more improvement in the following weeks.
Mark Haynes and Shaun Hildebrandt continued their good form and provided great run and drive for the 4 qtrs.

Sammy Larkins also looked in good touch before leaving the ground with an injury but he should be ok to resume this week
This week we look forward to the return of Ben Randall, Matt Virgo who have played no football this year and in the next few weeks Jarrad Schofield and Chris Hall should be pressing for senior selection.

Steel Blue Oval is always a tough away ground venue and we expect a tough encounter against the 2nd placed side.
