Subiaco set for Member Appreciation and Family Fun Day Match

Friday, June 8, 2018 - 11:24 AM

Subiaco return to action on Saturday, looking to continue their winning ways of 2018 so far, as East Fremantle travel to Leederville Oval.

Subiaco will celebrate their Member Appreciation and Family Fun Day on Saturday with a big crowd of fans, members, kids and junior footballers expected to attend this crucial WAFL clash as Subiaco looks to keep its break at the top of the WAFL ladder.

The team line up this week includes the return of Josh Deluca and Ben Newton with Daniel Leach, Daniel Perkins, Ben Reid named on an extended bench

The team will be without Greg Clark and Michael Braut who are both out with injury.

For all supporters if you cannot make it to the game you can catch it like through the WAFl app in the live radio tab or through the clubs Facebook livestream.

Since defeating Claremont in the QBE Night match on Thursday April 19th, Subiaco has played just three games in the next 50 days. They have won their three matches in that span, but wins against West Perth and Perth have been the least convincing of the season so far. How Subiaco respond from another bye week will be an early subplot in this game.

In an unusual quirk, Subiaco has won just two of its last six WAFL matches in Round 10. Last year, the same two teams contested a tight battle where Subiaco were forced to fight to overcome a determined East Fremantle side. Subiaco will be hoping that 2018 produces one of their better Round 10 performances.

After a three game ban handed down by the WAFL tribunal which ended up lasting 50 days due to byes in the Subiaco fixture, Deluca returns for the Saturday’s game. He returns against a team he loves to play against having never lost to East Fremantle and having an average of over 24 deposals a game through those eight matches. Deluca looms as a positive inclusion for the Subiaco midfield.

The Subiaco team has not had an issue scoring this season with multiple goal scorers in every game this season with two players in the top five leading goal kicking award this being Brad Stevenson with 24 goals and Rhys Waters with 18 goals with the team averaging over 19 goals a game.
