Subiaco has a new Talent Manager with Kristian Dicton announced as the successor to the recently promoted Michael Farmer.

Dicton beat out a strong field of candidates to become Subiaco’s new talent manager having officially started in the role last Monday.

It is an off-season of change for the Subiaco Colts after seeing their coach, talent manager and strength and conditioning coach all promoted through to the senior squad.

The appointment of Dicton finalises the key Colts appointments, joining new coach Chayce Creedy in overseeing the talent program of the Subiaco Football Club.

Dicton has a wealth of experience in football, taking on a number of roles in regional football including roles with the coaching team of the State Country Colts in 2017 and 2018 as well as heading up the Midwest Football Development Program.

For Dicton he is excited to join Subiaco and get back into a club environment after spending the past two year working with the West Australian Football Commission in Geraldton as a Regional Development Manager.

“I’m wrapped to be joining such a professional football club with a long and proud history in the WAFL,” Dicton said.

“It’s a privilege to be working with people of the calibre of Peter Capes, Michael Farmer and Chayce Creedy and I am really looking forward to the 2019 season.”

Dicton believes that his previous experiences having worked with talented young footballers in regional football will hold him in good stead as Talent Manager as he looks to continue the positive turnaround that has occurred with Subiaco’s talent program in the past two years.

“Coming in the aim isn’t to reinvent the wheel, as I am aware the past two years our program has gone from strength to strength highlighted by the Colts premiership win,” Dicton said.

“Really my aim is to continue to build on the solid foundations in place and see the program continue to develop players, coaches and staff both locally and regionally.”

Looking ahead to 2019, Dicton is excited to see a number of the talented players on the list continue with their development.

Dicton sees a couple of key areas as pivotal looking ahead to the 2019 season as Subiaco go into the year as reigning premiers.

“For our program I think the key focus is on maintaining and driving professional standards,” Dicton said.

“We want to make sure that we have a strong link between our talent programs and the senior playing group.”

The other area that is pivotal for Dicton, follows with his own background in regional football and ensuring that there is a strong pathway for aspiring young footballers within the Subiaco Regional District.

“The other area we want to continue to build on is our two regional academies in Kalgoorlie and Esperance and the relationships we have in these regions,” Dicton said.

“We also want to make sure that we are positively assisting and supporting our regional players who are making the transition to the city.”

The Subiaco Football Club congratulates Kristian on his appointment and looks forward to seeing him assist with the ongoing development of the club’s talent program.
