Form

Subiaco has been able to maintain strong form in all of their games to start the season. After losing to South Fremantle in their last home game in Round 6 at Leederville Oval Subiaco will be looking to gain back their winning streak on home turf.  In last week’s match Subiaco players faced a strong Peel Thunder with 15 players being listed from Fremantle. They were able to keep key players to minimal possessions allowing them to move the ball forward effectively winning them the game.  Strong goal kicking form from Subiaco players with Ben Sokol kicking 3 and Delahunty, Moore, Borchet and Newton coming away with 2 goals each they will be looking to once again maintain possession of the ball in the forward line and maintain strong goal kicking efficiency.

Last 5 games against Perth

The last time Subiaco versed Perth was in Round 21 of the 2018 season at Leederville Oval which saw Subiaco winning the game with a 72-point margin kicking 17.10 to Perth’s 6.4.

Subiaco have won all five of their last games against Perth by at least 4 goals or more. Subiaco will be looking to maintain their strong winning form against Perth. The last time Subiaco were defeated by Perth was in Round 16 in the 2016 WAFL Premiership Season.  They will be looking to keep Perth from the ball as much as possible and away from their forwards to get the win.

Opponents Form

Subiaco are expecting a fierce Perth in Saturdays match after Perth’s newly improved form this season. They have won 6 of their last 8 games including their Round 2 clash with South Fremantle, the only team that has won against Subiaco in the last 18 months. Last week saw Perth come back from being 27 points down in the middle of the third term to keep Swan Districts from the ball and kicked the last two goals to win the game by just 6 points. This shows that Subiaco will need to maintain a strong four quarter performance to keep Perth from their forward 50.

Backline

Subiaco’s defensive group will once again work together to limit Perth’s forwards from gaining possession and limiting them from as many set scoring shots as possible. Subiaco have been able to limit the ball use of their opponents in past rounds by moving the ball both effectively and efficiently out of their opponents forward 50. Subiaco’s defensive strategies and tactics have had a positive influence on the game and have been able to limit the scoring shots of their opponents in majority of their games to start the season. They will be looking to once again maintain strong form and keep Perth from as many goals as possible.
