After last week’s bye Subiaco are ready to take on South Fremantle in a Round 11 clash at Fremantle Community Bank Oval for a 2.15 bounce down.

Round 6 saw Subiaco defeated by South Fremantle by 22 points so Subiaco will be looking to get back their winning streak against the Bulldogs this weekend.

Keep an eye on Subiaco’s social media channels for updates across the day and if you cannot make it to the game, KIX Digital will have a live call.

Fremantle Oval

Interestingly enough, 4 out of the last 5 games against South Fremantle have been at Leederville oval. Last time the Lions played away at Fremantle community bank oval was in round 2 of the 2018 season which saw Subiaco come home with a 52-point win. Subiaco have been able to keep South Fremantle from winning at their home ground since Rd 11 of the 2013 season. They will continue to maintain good form and aim to bring home yet another win.

Form

In Round 9 Subiaco played Perth in some harsh rainy weather conditions which led them to a 69-point win keeping Perth to just 1 goal and 4 behinds during all 4 quarters. Subiaco players showed they are able to adapt to the weather conditions maintaining their good form and were able to play some strong football resulting in maintaining their 8-1 winning streak this season. Evidently they had strong ball movement skills when moving forward along with a strong defensive group.  Rhys Waters and Ryan Borchet both walked away with 3 goals whilst Lachlan Delahunty came away with 2 goals. They will be looking to maintain strong form as the move forward to maintain their top of the ladder position.

Opponents Form

South Fremantle will be looking to get a win to jump from their 2nd place position to first place on the ladder after winning 8-1 games this season. South Fremantle have been playing some strong competitive footy to start the season and will be sure to be hungry to reclaim their home ground territory therefore Subiaco will go into the game prepared for what the Bulldogs will bring to the field.

Tackle Pressure

Last time Subiaco played South Fremantle, the lions recorded 84 tackles, Kyal Horsley led with 9 tackles. In Round 9 Subiaco once again used strong tackle pressure to result in 96 tackles which was a season high. They will be looking to maintain their strong tackle pressure in all areas of the ground to limit South Fremantle’s ball movement.

Other Grades

After the Reserves Round 8 & 9 win they will be looking to get yet another win as the take on the South Fremantle Reserves before the League game for a 11.30 bounce down. Meanwhile the Colts will play at 9am looking to come away with another win after their Round 9 clash with Perth winning by 5 points. Subiaco’s Womens will take on East Fremantle at 12.00 at New Choice Homes Park also on the Saturday.
