WAFLW Match Preview: Round 15

Round 15 will see Subiaco take on Peel Thunder at Leederville Oval for a 3:00pm bouncedown on Sunday 25 August.

Form

After a round 14 win against Claremont by just 49 points, limiting the Tigers to only four points, the Lions will look to continue their winning ways and collect another W playing in front of their home crowd at Leederville Oval for a third week in a row. The win last week cemented top spot and the WAFLW minor premierships. 

Goal Kickers

Last time the two teams played, the Lions kicked seven goals; coming from Beatrice Devlyn 2, with singles to Lauren Stammers, Jacqueline Toth, Hayley Miller, Kristen Jayasuria and Sara Lewis.  

Opponents Form

Peel Thunder currently sit on the bottom of the WALFW ladder, only managing one win that came in round 6 against Swan Districts finishing the game 1.5 (11) to 8.5 (53) winners. The Club has recently come off a 68-point loss to Swan Districts at David Grays Arena in round 14.  

Last two times

The last two times we have played Peel Thunder it has been away at David Grays Arena. Subiaco has managed to secure victory in both of the past two outings. Round 5 saw Subiaco win by 51 points, while round 10 of the 2019 WAWFL season saw Subiaco defeat Peel Thunder by 44 points. At Leederville Oval for the first time against Peel Thunder this year, Subiaco will look to make it three from three this year against Peel.
