Not a fruitful trip to Claremont at the weekend with all three grades on the wrong end of the scoreboard but it was not all doom and gloom.
The Tigers Colts and Reserves remain unbeaten after four rounds and we pushed both right to the wire.
The upside of the Reserves clash was the long awaited and exciting return of Kyron Hayden. After his AFL sojourn and a wretched run with injury, Kyron pulled on the maroon and gold jumper at any level for the first time in 2400 days.
His last appearance for the Lions was the 2017 WAFL Reserves Grand Final. With six disposals, Hayden will benefit hugely from the hit out as he continues his return to top flight footy.
A 21-point loss in the League clash was not true reward for effort.

62 inside 50’s compared to just 44 by Claremont, a clear indicator Subi had their chances to post a bigger score and possibly take the the victory.
“The players never gave up, which reflects our values,” said coach Wardman.
“But we need to be tougher for longer in the contest and take our opportunities at critical moments. Only 40 marks for the game limited our ability to control momentum and invited Claremont’s pressure,” he added.
Despite the loss, Subiaco sit in the top five.
