Colts Coaches Report - Round 2 vs Claremont

Saturday’s game was very important for our team as we did not want to be 0 – 2 going into round 3. As a playing group we new we needed to have a full commitment from the 22 players on the filed in order to beat a side as quality as Claremont.

Although the start of the game was not ideal it showed true character from the boys to fight back in the second quarter which, including a goal from Abe Davey on half time really did set up the win.

The outstanding aspect from a coaching perspective was that there were 99 tackles for game and a real belief that we could win no matter the situation.

The theme for Saturday was DDD 100 for the boys and nobody portrayed these qualities better than Jon Lindsay who finished the game with a colts record 13 tackles and 3 goals. Other outstanding contributors were ruckman Tyson Keene, Nathan Stewart, Robert Scantlebury and our skipper Abe Davey.

The bar has been set as we now we look to East Fremantle on Sunday and aim to continue on from our great win.

See you there.
